Description
At Portastand, we hold a general belief that if it can’t withstand a minor breeze, it’s not a music stand. For our flagship Troubadour 2.0, we took that idea to the next level. Its black powder-coated aluminum desk supports orchestral scores, laptops, tablets, and auxiliary equipment without so much as a whimper. The Troubadour’s exclusive custom tripod, now featuring our Superior Pro Clutch design, goes low enough for the seated classical guitarist and high enough for the standing string player. Next, its patented, tailor-fit 1000D Cordura Nylon Desk cover with it’s: Wind resistors, removable shoulder strap, 3 over-size rear pockets, pencil and tripod storage features is weatherproof, tour-proof, and student-proof—all while dutifully schlepping everything from your expensive Tablet, to the kind of orchestra-sized scores that strike fear into the hearts of even the burliest percussionists. Take away the all-metal tripod and it doubles as a tabletop stand. And of course, like any Portastand product, it folds up like it’s auditioning for Cirque du Soleil, weighing an astonishingly light 5.5 pounds for easy carrying. So take a load off, ye weary traveler—the Portastand Troubadour 2.0 is the third bicep you always wanted.

I recently purchased the Portastand Troubadour music stand. Finally, someone has got it right. The design is BRILLIANT. I sit down most of the time when I perform—with a “normal” stand it winds up hiding me from the audience, and putting music on the floor is too far away for my over-40 eyes. The Portastand Troubadour is PERFECT! I can put the music at knee level, still see the music, and the audience won’t complain because they can still see the performance. Plus, the cover is just brilliant! The legs fold up and fit in the straps on the back . . . there’s a place for pencils, etc. Plus, a couple of Wind Resistors with a little hook on both ends to hold down your music . . . this is IDEAL for playing outdoor gigs! No more clothespins or bulky sheets of Plexiglas. BEAUTIFUL. If that wasn’t enough, the Portastand telescopes up as high as all the other stands on the market. This is the BEST of all possible stands. Congratulations on a brilliant product. I give it my HIGHEST recommendation.

I am enjoying my Portastand Troubadour very much. Finally, a stand that is tall enough to play the violin standing up. And it is good and sturdy without being too weighty.

My Portastand arrived today, much sooner than I expected. It is a beautifully designed music stand . . . the dark green color is attractive without asking for too much attention. Thanks for this truly excellent music stand.

I had one of these shipped across the pond to the UK and it was totally worth it. It’s by far, the best music stand I have used. You can’t beat the portability of this stand – I don’t gig or teach anywhere without it now! I keep a mound of manuscript and a pencil tucked in the cover of the stand, materials which I would normally forget to take with me. Just as Portastand claims, it’s one of the few stands that can take the weight of a Real book, or that I would trust leaving my iPad on. If you are a musician where you have music stands constantly buckling under their own weight halfway through performing a song then this really is the best music stand out there! These guys are out to change history and I cannot wait to see what new developments they come up with!

Wish I could return it. When I put a holder on for my viola the music tray folds in. Does not stay tilted. I can not see where I can tighten something to stop this from happening. Otherwise very well made!

Hi, Kris! Aaron from Portastand here. I know how you can tighten the desk to make your viola holder stay put :) I’ll follow up via email with some instructions on that. We’ll make sure you’re able to use your Troubadour exactly how you want to! Thanks for the wonderful feedback, too.

My grandson recently decided to play the electric guitar. I ordered the Portastand Troubadour along with the Might Bright Duet to encourage his musical talents. He loves the stand. As a tall young man, this stand serves him well, sitting or standing. It’s well made and crafted with musicians’ needs in mind. As he travels between home and school, the portability and strength of this stand is the best. We are very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks Portastand!

Best stand ever. I gig with it several times a week.

Thanks, Kelly! Rock on (or jazz, or orchestra, or any other genre…)

Fantastic Music Stand. i bought this for my wife as our traditional music stands were heavy and sometimes unsafe. We got the Troubadour and the fact that it can be carried over the shoulder and store sheet music totally blows me away. One thing that would be great is if the canvas material could be a tad stronger, as there was a little rip on the top left fold when I took it out of its box packagingz. I was able to fix it with some Gorilla Glue and a small stitching. Otherwise, we both love this stand and I plan to buy another one (Troubadour). Highly recommended and absolutely worth the investment!

Great stand! The tabletop portion is where a lot of portable stand manufacturers skimp but portastand shines. The wind clips are a great design and functional. The sleeve pockets/cloth part is great and eliminates the need for a second music bag if you just have some music to carry. I love the pockets and shoulder strap and how the whole thing packs together. Looks good, sturdy, and functional as anything. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs a music but doesn’t want the full size manhasset or wenger stands.
